title,doi,url,abstract,journal,publication_year,pmid,arxiv Monitoring and Alerting of An OpenStack Cloud, https://doi.org/10.32628/IJSRCSEIT, https://ijsrcseit.com/CSEIT1722297, Currently Cloud Computing is one of the most widely used technologies. Almost all the big players in IT industry deploy their own cloud. Once the cloud is deployed it must be maintained over a period of time and the administrator must know about the incomings outgoings and the status of the cloud at any given time. The above role of the administrator can be simplified by saying monitoring. Monitoring-as-a-service (MaaS) is one of many cloud delivery models under anything as a service (XaaS). It is a framework that facilitates the deployment of monitoring functionalities for various other services and applications within the cloud. The most common application for MaaS is online state monitoring which continuously tracks certain states of applications networks systems instances or any element that may be deployable within the cloud. Currently monitoring in an OpenStack Cloud can be done using various tools like Nagios Zenoss Ceilometer but all the tools have various loopholes. Strengths of the pre-existing tools i.e. of Nagios Zenoss and Rackspace will be combined; gaps present in these tools will be filled in to develop a new plugin which serves as a better tool when it comes to monitoring the application., International Journal of Scientific Research in Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology, 2017, CSEIT1722297
