AB  - <em>Matsar</em> is Marathi language word and the meaning is <em>envy, jealousy, negativity</em> and <em>distrust</em>. The following sentence <em>&ldquo;He got this project because of luck rather than his work&rdquo;</em> conveys <em>Matsar</em> sentiment. In this competitive world, it increases negativity and jealousy among people due to the success of other people or status of other people etc. Generally it seems between friends, co-workers, businesses etc. It will be helpful in schools, colleges, organizations to get to know the relation between two individuals. In this work, we have proposed a pattern based approach to detect whether the text contains <em>Matsar</em> Sentiment or not. The proposed approach gives accuracy of 99% using KNN algorithm, 98% using DT algorithm, 97% using SVM algorithm and 94% using NB algorithm.
